AKUA（アクア）という名前は、西アフリカ、ガーナのアカン人が曜日にちなんだ命名をする習慣に由来し「水曜日に生まれた女の子」を意味します。
店主が水曜日生まれの女性でガーナ人の友人からAKUAと命名してもらったことと、アフリカとの経済振興を深めたい思いからAKUAという名前を店名に使いました。

店名の由来にあるように、私どもはアフリカを原産とする植物で作られた健康に役立つ商品を中心に販売し、一部、それらを補助する日本製品も販売いたします。

Thank you for visiting the African Self-Care Shop AKUACARE. The name AKUA means "girl born on Wednesday", which is derived from the custom of Akan people in Ghana, West Africa, to name it after the day of the week.
The shop owner was a woman born on Wednesday and was named AKUA by her Ghanaian friend, and she named the shop name AKUACARE to express her heart for deepening economic promotion between Africa and Japan.

As the shop name comes from, we mainly sell health-friendly products made of plants native to Africa, and we also sell some Japanese products that support them. In Africa, we can find Japan everywhere through Japanese products such as automobiles and motorcycles, etc.

On the other hand, how much can we find Africa in Japan?
We would like to introduce more products originating from Africa to Japan and contribute to the enrichment of both Africa and Japan.
